Packers 24 - Rams 3

Oh my gosh!  What a great day yesterday was!  We scored tickets to the game.  I don't think we could have done better.  We  had a great view (of course, there are no bad seats at Lambeau Stadium).  We were in the sunshine all afternoon (and if you know our Wisconsin weather, it could have been awful - the wind gusts were 31 mph and it was about 54 degrees).  It was amazing watching the game at Lambeau.  I have been to games at the Dome in Minnesota, but this just does not even compare!

Then our beloved Packers won the game for us - Awesome!  I had a blast and can't wait to go back and do it again someday :)

I saved the pics for the end so if you are not into football, you can skip the rest of the post.  I do promise some artwork real soon, as you can see, I was a little too preoccupied to create lately.  Can you believe I never even gave it a thought to make a sign for the game?!?!  I'm not too keen on the throwback jerseys, but hey...I'm not gonna complain, I got to go to a game!
I'm sure I'll be using these photos plus lots more on some upcoming scrapbook pages :)

Bike trip adventures

Even though I should be finishing up my swaps and getting ready for Convention, I took a mini vacation and took off on the motorcycle with a friend and traveled over the weekend.  I was one of the best trips I've ever taken!

We took off and traveled North-staying ahead of the coming storm the whole way.  The next day we ended up as far north in Wisconsin as you can get, taking the ferry across to Madeline Island.  We took the bikes with us and toured the island.  Thanks for hanging with us Neil and Michelle.  It was great meeting you on the ferry and spending the day with you on the island.  We found a couple of really fun places that I wouldn't mind going back to again!  Then it was off to Duluth to meet up with some other people.
All in all, we only put on about 500 miles as we were having too much fun hanging out at the fun places we found, but that's ok.  It was perfect weather for riding :)

This week, I'll be in the Cellar Dweller's Dream finishing up my swaps for Convention.  You might just have to wait till after I leave to see them as I would hate for the girls to see them before I hand them over to them.  Rest assured, though, I will post pics of them for you.

I am home from another amazing vacation!

This time I was on a Western Caribbean Cruise.  We were cruisebooking.  What's that, you say?  Well, we were scrapbooking aboard the ship.  Thirty six of us in all.  What a fun time we had!  Here are a few photos from the trip.
We did a tour of the Uxmal Mayan Ruins in Progreso.  What a fascinating trip.   We saw tons of iguanas this day, they were everywhere, you had to watch where you were stepping!
Yep, I climbed all 80 steps of this pyramid!  What an amazing view from the top!
In Cozumel, I went to Paradise Beach...loved it!  What a relaxing day at the beach.
Oh, did I mention the temps when I left home?  It was -19 degrees!  Yes, way below zero -and that was even without the windchill!  Can you see why I don't want to stay home during the winter now? Here is even some photo  proof of the temp - my car thermometer on the way to the airport.
I have a lot more exciting artwork to show you so stay tuned...

Mmmmm, Mmmmm good!

This Wisconsin girl had an awesome lunch in Mobile, Alabama yesterday!  I went to a local place on Dauphin Street called Hopjack's Pizza Kitchen & taproom.  It was the most amazing sandwich and fries I have had in a very long time.  It was a little spicy for this wimpy northern girl, but mmmm, was it ever good!  I had a shrimp pita fold sammie with a side of Belgian fries.  Like I said, a little on the hot side, but the white dipping sauce helped that problem out!
Just look at this beautiful little park here in Mobile.  They are so busy getting ready for Mardi Gras - that starts next Friday.  Too bad I hadn't done a little more research and known that before, I would have stayed for a couple of days after the cruise to check it out.  Oh well, I'll just have to come back, I guess!
Tomorrow morning we get on the cruise ship!  I can hardly wait!

The rest of our Vegas weekend

OK, here we are for the rest of our Vegas weekend.

Saturday, we took a drive out to Red Rock Canyon.  We were there last year when we went out to Vegas, but it is so beautiful, we had to go again (and hey, it's only about a 1/2 hour out of town, so what the heck...it's better than wasting our time gambling money away :)  This time out there, we had decided we were going to climb to the top of a mountain!
We made it to the top!  It was pretty tricky in a few places (alright, actually scary once or twice) but we did it!  A few times we would stop and look up, look down, and make a decision.  One time we were going to quit because we didn't know if we could do it.  After looking up and seeing how close we were, we had to go for it!  See all those cars down there?  Ours was parked waaaay down there, too!
Here is the view off the other side.  We could see the whole strip (really it's there...look close).  It sure doesn't look very big from up there.  Here it is zoomed in for you.
See what looks like a profile of a face right about in the middle?  We were on top of that.
Here is another picture of the same place only taken from the ground so you can see what we had to climb.  It was work (we were exhausted), but it was so worth it!  I am so glad that I lost the weight I have or I would never have been able to accomplish this!
Sunday, I really have no pictures to show you.  We got up, had to be checked out of our room by 11:00, put our suitcases in the car, and proceeded to the Sports Book to watch the Packer/Bear game.  I even placed a bet on the game (we were in Vegas, you know).  I knew we weren't going to be able to see the whole game as we had to head to the airport.  We did get to watch the first 3 quarters.  Yeah, my Packers were ahead!  We cut it as close as we could before we had to leave.  We got to the airport just in the nick of time (I think there were only about 5 people that boarded the plane after us!)  The game was over by that point, but YEAH, THE PACKERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!

A funny from Sunday...as we were getting our seats in the Sports Book getting ready to watch the game, Dale saw a couple and said to me, "That looks like your cousin Jason."  Yeah, right, like we'd actually run into someone we knew out there!  Well, sure enough, it was my cousin and his wife.  They were even staying in the same hotel as us!  It just goes to show you that it really is a Small World!

Goodbye, Las Vegas.  I am sure we'll be back to visit you again...
