Remembering Tony...

Twenty four years ago today we brought our wonderful little Tony into this world. One year ago today we lost him in that horrible card accident.

Today is a day full of emotions for us. Lots of remembering and tears.

Your tractor is still sitting in the barn. Dad brought it to Clayton to pull it in you and Rhonda's Memorial Class. It ran, but not as well as when you ran it. He also brought it to Osceola and pulled it-remember pulling it there? You had so many hooks with that tractor-many years worth. You started pulling when you were just 7 years old-hard to believe. You were a seasoned veteran when you were still a punk kid!We also got your car running good now. A new motor and a little work to it and it is doing well. Dad took it out for a drive the other day. Maybe today I can get a little ride in it, too!We have so many wonderful memories of you, Tony! I could go on all day... We are missing you like crazy, but know you are in a wonderful place. Please take good care of your sister up there, too (as I know you are-you always did...except when you were picking on her!)

We love you bud,

Swaps I received today...

I thought I would share with all of you some of the swaps I received in the mail today. This is part of the gift certificate swap I was in. I already showed you my card, but here are the rest of them. Aren't they great? Swaps are a fabulous tool for me as I can use them however I wish AND I get to learn some great new ideas!

Gift card holder

Good morning everyone. I have to say I am in a serious "hate the afternoon shift at work" funk. I really do not like the swing shift anymore (at least we don't have to do graveyards anymore). I got put on the afternoon shift for this week and next. Wouldn't you think I would enjoy the fact that I could sleep in this week and not have to be up at 4:00 am? Well, I would sure think so, but NO! Yesterday I was wide awake at 5:00 am. Couldn't go back to sleep. I knew I was going to pay for it last night. Sure enough, by last break, I was so tired, my eyes just burned. Do you think I could fall asleep when I got home? Of course not! The last I remember seeing the clock, it was 3:00 am. I must have fallen asleep sometime after that, but it was a restless sleep-lots of tossing and turning. Hopefully I will be so exhausted by the time I get home tonight that I will be able to sleep!

OK, sorry, enough grumbling from me. You didn't come here to read about that! How about some more artwork? Yes, you say...This is a part of a gift certificate swap I am in. I decided to make a gift card holder. I used my business card inside (so they know who it can be redeemed through) and put the gift certificate on the back of it. Clever, huh?

OK, it is off to do some laundry before I have to head to work again (and hopefully a little creating downstairs). Why is it my time is so short at home and at work it just drags by??

**OK, not sure what's going on with my photos today, but I think you'll figure it out. I don't know if it's me or blogger??

Grace cards

I know, I know...it's about time I get some new artwork posted. I have been really slacking at posting lately. I have been up to my elbows in getting swaps done (tell me again why I sign up for so many of them?? Oh yeah, I just LOVE getting all that fabulous artwork back!)

Well, here is a couple of the cards I made using the new Grace paper pack. They were sent out along with my layout for the Demo board swap. The first is a standard card that also used the Cottage Floral stamp set. It is not a set designed to go with that paper pack, but I just love being able to work outside the box every now and then.

The second card is a tri-fold card that utilizes the Childhood Portrait stamp set along with the Thank You stamp set.I will really try to be batter about posting. It has been really difficult for me to get back into the swing of things again. I thought I was doing well enough to go into my daughter's school this morning. Well, all went well until I got to the Senior's hallway and saw all her friends hanging out. It was tough, but they are all amazing young adults. There were lots of hugs, tears, and smiles. I left a basket of Rhonda's lotions in her locker for the girls to just help themselves to and use all year. Rhonda was pretty well known for all her good smelling lotions. In fact, Allison called Rhonda her "good smelly friend". Enjoy the lotions and sprays girls. Rhonda would want you to share them. If her locker gets locked by some chance (Mr. Holmes sometimes has a habit of walking down the hallway and turning the locks on the lockers) just talk to Linda and she'll get it opened back up for you.

OK, enough sad talk. It is going to be a better day now. I plan to head downstairs to work a little in my craft room before I have to head out to work today. I don't like this afternoon shift, but what can I do, I do like my paycheck :)
